E-commerce branch of Paytm Group is planning to start same-day hyperlocal deliveries for essential items such as groceries, wellness, and electronics products. This initiative has taken by One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm Mall to diversify and extend its current e-commerce services and business.

In the next few weeks, Paytm Mall may partner with around 10,000 grocery stores of more than 100 cities to ensure Hyperlocal delivery in these cities. Currently, Paytm Mall is offering e-commerce services through registered merchants.

In a statement, the company said, “It will partner with over 10,000 Kirana stores, small shops, and businesses for hyperlocal deliveries. The company has been investing in scaling up its hyperlocal operations over the past few weeks and is now offering delivery of grocery essentials in more than 100 cities across the country and plans to scale it to more cities within the next few weeks.”

Paytm Mall has observed a massive increase in orders during the lockdown and a considerable amount of wait time to process the orders through its registered online merchants. The connection with nearby stores will reduce this burden especially for grocery and other essential items, and also it will offer same-day delivery for specific products.

Paytm Mall is also in talks with major logistic suppliers like Delhivery, Bluedart, and GATI to launch Hyperlocal deliveries on a pilot scale.
