Prefer Online Transactions than Cash Transactions, Warns Government

The government has advised using UPI, NEFT, net banking and debit cards instead of cash. It has asked banks to encourage their customers to use digital payment methods. The government has done so as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Finance Ministry has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday. They said that the notes can spread the infection of the corona. It can become a medium in the spread of the virus.

The notification advises banks to run campaigns via media, social media and SMS and email. They have been asked to explain the benefits of digital payments to protect against the current situation. The government has said that banks can also make customers more aware by placing banners and posters at their branches and ATMs.

In addition, the government has also asked business correspondents, service providers and banking agents to provide sanitation facilities to customers. It has advised them to use equipment such as Aadhaar in the bulk payment system and ATM machine. The government is making all efforts to prevent the spread of corona infections.

They have taken all precautionary measures to prevent it. Under this, halls, malls, colleges, schools have been closed in all the states. People are being advised to stay in their homes. People are being asked to avoid attending mass events.
